The Parish Council’s newly established “Greener Stebbing Committee” is working with you to help Stebbing become more environmentally friendly as we become more aware of the impact our lifestyles have on our planet. We hope that every resident of the village will want to be a part of this journey, in some way.

Our role will be to develop a plan that co-ordinates and communicates with all the existing initiatives happening in the village, such as tree planting and litter picking and enhance this with new initiatives such as saving water and reducing waste. We want to gather information from residents as to how you want to Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose and Recycle products in everyday use and then communicate this regularly through Stebbing Scene, Parish website and social media.

We have a Green Champion (Rachel McIntyre, who is a resident) on the committee and her first task is to develop an “green identity” for the village and we’re doing this through a competition you’ll have seen advertised. Essentially, we’ve asked the village children to come up with a logo that defines our identity and it will be used on all green initiatives. The competition has been extended as shown below.
