The Kingdom Woodland Walk

Stebbing Parish Council (SPC) have created a new natural walk at the lower end of Mill Lane playing field called the “The Kingdom Woodland Walk”. It is an area of woodland that the parish council owns that has laid dormant for many a year and that Michael Kingdom had earmarked for some village benefit. We have honoured this with his name.

We (SPC) applied for a grant to the Uttlesford District Council through the Zero Carbon Community Grants requests to develop this area into a woodland walk that links existing public footpaths (PF 10) from The Downs to Mill Lane. The grant covered a third of the costs and the remainder was paid for by SPC.

The intention of this walk is to be educational and pleasurable to the community of our village and also to be a working environment to those who wish to develop the area into a better habitation for flora and fauna, bug and animal habitation and birds nesting in our wonderful tress and canopy.

The before and after pictures show what improvements we have made, but this is only the beginning of the story. We would like your support so that you, your children, your grandchildren can benefit from this wonderful woodland experience. There is also a video of the walk at stebbing-pc.gov.uk/woodlandwalk.mp4

The volunteering we are asking you to do is planting of wild flowers, installing nesting boxes for birds and management of wildlife habitats. Please help us achieve this by volunteering to support our community.

Contact our Parish Clerk (Greg King) for your support at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and we will advise how the development will be achieved with your ideas and those of the experts in the village.
